How have Carthage faculty had an impact on your life or Carthage career?

“My piano professor, Professor Wael Farouk, has been such a positive presence in my Carthage career. He really worked hard at helping me transition to college life as a freshman, 和 he is always available to talk if I need help of any kind.”


“So far, my favorite class has been History of Christian Thought with Professor Michele Eich, adjunct faculty of 宗教. I didn’t think I would like that class too much, but Prof. Eich is such a knowledgeable person, 和 she taught the class in such an interesting 和 factual way!”


“The toughest class I’ve taken has been American Foreign Policy with Professor Arthur Cyr. It was difficult because the students 和 professor were incredibly knowledgeable about events taking place all over the world. I definitely had to push myself to keep up in that class, but I learned a lot about foreign policy through it.”

Campus involvement

“I am the president of the 公共关系 Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter 在bv伟德ios下载. PRSSA is part of a national organization, so being a member 和 leader of the club offers so many networking 和 career-building opportunities.

“I am also part of the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship 和 武术 校园俱乐部. They keep me busy, but they are super fun, 和 I’ve met my closest friends 在bv伟德ios下载 through clubs.”

Internships or on-campus employment

“I have an on-campus job in the Office of Marketing 和 Communications 作为一名新闻记者. I’ve worked in the Office since freshman year, 和 it has helped prepare me for a career in 公共关系 在很多方面. Not only do I get writing experience, but I get to learn about internal communication 和 web editing — all things that are important in a 公共关系 career.

“I completed a summer internship as an 校友 事件 Intern in the Office of Institutional Advancementbv伟德ios下载. This internship was perfect for me since I want to be an event planner someday, 和 I am so grateful to my career specialist, 卡洛琳Serdar, in Aspire计划 for helping me find this internship.

“I was also able to attend a J-Term Study Tour to Tanzania which is a time I will never forget. This was one of the most impactful experiences of my college career.”

“My favorite Carthage memory is with my frisbee team. We played a game of frisbee right by the lake, 和 we accidentally threw the disc into the lake. We had to swim a little to get it back, but we eventually did!”

“My favorite spot on campus is the Fritsch Meditation Chapel. It’s a little chapel that is really peaceful 和 such a good place to read or just be by yourself.”

What would your 8-year-old self think of you now?

“My 8-year-old self would be surprised! When I was eight, I wanted to be a professional ballerina. Even though I decided that wasn’t the right career for me, I’m very grateful that I can keep ballet in my life by doing 在bv伟德ios下载跳舞.”

Why should other students consider your major? What advice do you have for them?

“Public relations is a very underrated major in my opinion, 和 it is one of the most practical fields a student can go into. It opens the door to many different career options, 和 it’s a people-focused career path which is great for a people-person like myself.”


“I chose Carthage because of its dance program. I have done ballet since I was four, 和 I really wanted to continue that in college.”
